About

the blog

Headquartered in the Midwest, Short Stories, Long Distance is a compilation of short, oftentimes humorous, stories about the miles I run, the books I read, and the life that happens in between.

I explore productivity, endurance, creativity and joy— inspiring subtle, positive shifts over the long haul. It’s lifestyle blog meets running journal with a sprinkling of pep talk on top.

Join me for a few miles and sign up for my emails so you never miss a post.

the writer

I have a PhD in Women’s History,
a few BQs in marathon running,
and absolutely no degree of understanding
in motherhood.

As the Director of the Center for Girls’ and Young Women’s Leadership at Columbus School for Girls, I develop leadership programming and original curriculum to ensure the next generation of female leaders can lead themselves and others. My research, ideas, and stories have appeared on the TED stage, the Smithsonian podcast Sidedoor, NPR’s StoryCorps, and in various publications.

Outside of pumping up anyone who will listen, I look forward to my morning run, the Sunday paper, and the day women comprise (at least) 50% of the legislature.
