why walda?

the name Walda finds its origins in the German language. Derived from the Germanic word ‘wald’, meaning ‘ruler’ or ‘dominion’, Walda carries the significant connotation of leadership and authority.

and, I thought it was a clever play on the children’s book series, Where’s Waldo. but, in this version, we’re finding historic trailblazing women. no striped shirts necessary.
